Driver Crashes Into Tree Following Short Police Chase
Grandview, MO. police got more than they bargained for when they responded to an alarm at the Grandview Alternative Middle School early Saturday morning. Two men stopped and asked officers what was happening at the school. Police asked to see the driver’s licenses of both men, when the driver took off. Because he was traveling at a high rate of speed, officers decided not to pursue the vehicle.
Police later found the car about a mile down the road crashed into a tree. The driver was still in the vehicle, but the passenger had taken off on foot. He was arrested a short time later. Both men were taken to a hospital for treatment. Police said that charges would be filed, and were not sure at this point if drugs or alcohol played a part in the incident.
Nothing good can ever come from fleeing police in pursuit. Not only are you going to make your case worse in front of a judge but you begin to endanger the lives of everyone involved: yourself and the officers involved not to mention the innocent Kansas City motorists on the road as well.
